license plates

Hey we just got our registration and nee to get plates made, I was Wondering if anyone knows where to get the 6x12 Black with silver writing Import collector plates? I really don't want to put the yellow ones on my car....

my local A1 motorstores did mine, 20 pounds each but worth it, get the import legal smaller font (62mm i thnk) and silver on black.

are all these places UK legal? Cause i need drivers plates not just car show ones. can i personalize them? Put my own characters on them or are they issued to me?

They usually do both.....I know Craigs do legal and show.

If you want legal, you can't put anything on them, they have to be specific sizes, text font/size and colours.
You will also have to show/send in your driving licence.
You can buy personalized registrations from the Ministry of Transport/DVLA or other companies out there, but they're not cheap, otherwise you get what you're given from the DVLA.
As your car is pre-'73 you may have black and silver or black and white plates.
As your car is US you may have the smaller size plates with smaller (motorcycle) size text to fit the smaller plate areas.

My showplates do next day delivery - no documents needed.
Police have never bothered me and all my plates are legally interesting - for example my old Viper had a naked woman and 3 kisses on it - and it was sexy !!
